How Responsible Does Our Energy Make Us?

Our lives are inextricably linked to the consumption of energy. As a power utility, it is incumbent upon us to supply energy while minimizing our use of natural resources and maximizing the contribution we make to protecting the environment.

Key to the responsibility we shoulder is making sparse use of natural resources, lowering emissions, avoiding waste that is harmful to the environment, and conserving landscapes.

E.ON Energie capitalizes on cutting-edge technology to reduce pollutants across its fleet of plants to a minimum. Substantial improvements in power plant efficiency have made a large contribution to this cause.

Fewer Emissions

In 2005, CO2-free electricity already accounted for 60% of our total generation. The main drivers behind emissions reductions are the successes we score in large-scale power plant engineering.

Emissions Trading

Climate protection is a global challenge that is taken on responsibly by various constituencies, including power utilities. E.ON Energie's investments assist in achieving the climate-protection goals agreed in the Kyoto Protocol on both the national and international level.

Environmental Projects

Reducing waste, maintaining lines in an environmentally friendly way and protecting flora and fauna are all part of E.ON Energie's efforts to protect the environment.
