Radikal jung - The Young Directors Festival
Reaping the benefits of this project, Christian Stückl, Director of the Munich Volkstheater, attracts select German talent in the field of theater direction to Munich every year. Radikal jung (German for "radically young") is the only festival of its kind in Germany and offers young directors a new forum for sharing ideas and experience. A total of eight productions were chosen, all of which stood out in the German theater scene.
Cultural Neighbors: E.ON Energie and the Volkstheater
At Munich´s Volkstheater, "radically young" entails questioning deeply rooted rituals, addressing taboos without inhibition, and charting new courses before asking about the risks they entail. Thus, besides supporting this approach, we hope it instills courage and curiosity in the budding directors and offers them a change in perspective-key values which also play their part in shaping daily life in business.
Munich´s Volkstheater is now the third major "cultural neighbor" besides the Lenbachhaus and the Pinakotek der Moderne. This coincidental spatial proximity has turned into an environment of conscious interaction, with each of the establishments providing the others with new stimulus and undigested food for cultural and entrepreneurial thought.
