E.ON builds cogeneration plant for K+S KALI

E.ON is extensively modernising and extending the existing energy provision facilities at K+S KALI GmbH in Philippsthal, Hesse. E.ON is building a state-of-the-art and efficient gas turbine power station with cogeneration directly next to the existing facility for around € 50 million.

Ingo Luge appointed CEO of E.ON Energie AG

Munich: E.ON Energie AG’s Supervisory Board today appointed Ingo Luge (52) as CEO, effective immediately. He succeeds Klaus-Dieter Maubach who left to join the E.ON AG Board of Management in May of this year.

TÜV SÜD and E.ON press ahead with electro-mobility

Starnberg. TÜV SÜD and E.ON are working closely together to further develop electro-mobility to market readiness. The focus of this strategic partnership is on a broad spectrum of charging systems for electro-vehicles. Developing user friendly electricity fuel stations with the highest safety standards will be an important contribution to building up the infrastructure necessary for the wide use of electro-cars in the future.

TÜV SÜD and E.ON press ahead with development of electricity fuel stations

Starnberg. TÜV SÜD and E.ON are going to cooperate closely in future in testing and further developing charging systems for electro-mobility. The primary aims are developing safety standards and the quick readiness for series production of a broad spectrum of user friendly electricity fuel stations. This was announced by Dr Axel Stepken, Chairman of TÜV SÜD, and Dr Dierk Paskert, Member of the Board of E.ON Energie AG, at the reopening of the modernised TÜV SÜD Service Centre in Starnberg on Friday 9 July. In doing so, along with commissioning cable connected electricity fuel stations, test operations for cable free inductive loading stations were also agreed.

"Talking about Energy" at the Hannover Messe 2010

For the second time since 2008, E.ON will be hosting a dialog forum on is-sues related to current and future energy supply at the Hannover Messe from April 19-23, 2010. Under the motto "Talking about Energy", E.ON will provide trade show visitors with an opportunity to attend diverse discussion formats with high-ranking guests from politics, business, sciences and civil society, including Jörg Bode, Lower Saxonys Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transportation; Hans Heinrich Sander, Lower Saxonys Minister of Environmental Affairs and Climate Protection; the physicist Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker as well as Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, previously Executive Director of UNEP and Founding Director of the Institute for Ad-vanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam.

On the way to an intelligent network: E.ON pilot project prepares introduction of intelligent electricity meters

10,000 Smart Meters from various manufacturers have helped customers in the E.ON Bavaria network area to save energy. The company installed the intelligent meters in mid-2008 as part of a large field trial, carried out since the beginning of the year by E.ON Metering GmbH, a company founded especially for smart metering. Alongside customer experiences, the collected findings for recording, transmitting and evaluating consumption data provide an important basis for the further development of the regional distribution networks into intelligent networks in particular.
