The Network - From the Danish Border to the Alps
E.ON Netz runs the E.ON Group's power transmission network with approximately 1,900 employees. The transmission grid is the backbone of secure power supply and power exchange throughout Europe.
E.ON Netz's electricity network runs north-south from Denmark to the Alps, spanning some 140,000 square kilometers, and covering more than one third of Germany's surface area. The transmission grid extends through Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Hesse and Bavaria and includes parts of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Network operations pose a challenge that one can only master with forward-looking planning, the commitment of highly-qualified employees, and first-rate technology. Network facility operations are handled by two regional centers and six grid centers, covering the entire network area.
E.ON Netz guarantees fair, non-discriminatory third-party access (NTPA) to its transmission network.
