About the increase in world energy demand. About new energy sources, about higher efficiency. About the people we supply with energy.

About the people with whom we're working hand in hand to this end. It is our aim to pro-actively approach problems with a sense of responsibility and openness - for a safer future.

In doing so, growth is as important as the maintenance of what exists already. In Germany we will have to cope with great challenges. Our power plants and grids are the foundation of our business and at the same time they are the basis for security of supply. As an energy utility, we have a corporate responsibility that we are willing to assume.

We must not stagnite but have to remain open for all energy sources and technologies on hand. Traditional energy sources—such as oil, coal, and gas—and nuclear energy and hydroelectric power will have to bear the brunt of worldwide energy supply in the decades to come.
