The company's key accounts include energy utilities like RWE Power, Vattenfall Europe Generation and Deutsche Steinkohle AG (DSK) as well as chemicals manufacturers such as BP, Ruhr OEL, SABIC, INEOS, and Degussa. RuhrEnergie GmbH services power, steam, and compressed-air supply contracts with these key accounts, issues monthly bills, and matches E.ON power-station deployment in the Ruhr region and the new German states to customer demand. RuhrEnergie GmbH also operates and maintains a 35-kV feeder line as well as steam, compressed-air, and water networks. A part from these localized generation and transmission functions, the company is responsible for reporting statistical information on EKW's entire generation fleet to the relevant regulatory bodies of various German states.
